On Nov. 23/2010 Ethiopian review posted a story about Karuturi Global investment in Ethiopia, titled ‘Indian agribusiness devastates western Ethiopia(photo/video)’. Aigaforum traced the origin of the photos and exposed the sham. Apparently, Ethiopian Review changed the photo immediately thereafter. But only to substitute it with another bogus photo. Yet again, Aigaforum traced the true origin of the substituted photo. Both photos were taken half way around the globe in the Americas! [See the evidence below]
Military expenditure at a historic low | Ethiopia
The share of Military related expenditure has decreased to 1.42% of GDP in 2009, though the nominal size(not adjusted for inflation) increased to 4.7 Billion Ethiopian Billion Ethiopian Birr.
Similarly, according to the recent available data, the active military personnel count 0.36% of the total labor force. The size of the Army has also decreased to pre Ethio-Eritrean war times.
Ethiopia: 2.3 Million need Humanitarian Assistance in 2010
The number of needy people has decreased from 5.2 million in January to 2.3 million recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and international donor organizations announced.
In a joint news conference they gave here on Wednesday, officials of the Ministry and donor organizations said about 20 million USD is also required to meet the prioritized needs in the non-food sectors.

DV in Ethiopia: Only 4.5% Urbanites Applied this year
Only 5 out of 100 urban dwellers applied for DV Lottery in Ethiopia this year. The Wall Street Journal revealed today that only 580,000 Ethiopians applied for DV Lottery this year. Though this is the 4th highest number, following Bangladesh, Nigeria and Ukraine where 7.67million, 1.47million and 760,000 applied, respectively.

The new Ethiopian railroad network will connect about 49 urban centers, according to a leaked document. The new railroad network is planned to have at least 8 main routes that extends to all compass points. The rail line will link no less than 49 urban centers, where railway stations are to be established. The proposed rail line crosses the borders of all regions, except Gambella. The network connects, among others, the Chartered Cities Addis Ababa & Dire Dawa, 7 of the 9 State capitals, and towns bordering Sudan, Kenya and Djibouti.
