The aircraft carrying the Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi was force-landed in Ouagadougou last month, the Amharic bi-weekly Ethiopian-reporter reported on Sunday. The incident allegedly occurred on December 21 or 22, when the PM was returning home after attending the inaugural ceremony of the West African Republic Burkina Faso.
According to the report, the plane, Boeing 737, had to force-land few minutes after taking off from Ouagadougou airport, since the cockpit window of the aircraft was dangerously shattered. The cause of the shattering is a ‘spark’ on the window.
The PM had to stay in Ouagadougou Hilton for another 6 hours before another Ethiopian Airlines aircraft, Boeing 767, brought him home.
