President of the Republic, Omer Al Bashir is scheduled to attend the first anniversary of the death of late Ethiopian Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi in Addis Ababa which will start on the 20th of this month.
Meanwhile, Sudan will organize the 1st memorial service for late Ethiopian Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi under the auspices of President Al Bashir.
The ceremony will take place on the 24th of August at the Friendship Hall.
The high committee for the event was formed under the chairmanship of Minister of Investment, Dr, Mustafa Osman Ismail and the membership of Ambassadors Osman Al-Sayed, Mohy Adden Salim and the Ethiopian Ambassador to Khartoum.
ZAIN Telecommunication Company will sponsor the event besides a considerable contribution from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The programme will be attended by the Ethiopian Foreign Minister who will lead a delegation of Ethiopian high level officials.
Several working papers will be presented during the sessions of the programme on the distinguished role of late Meles Zenawi regionally and internationally, along with strategic papers on the relations between Sudan and Ethiopia.
“The Minister of Foreign Affairs is supposed to go first (to Khartoum) but he is now scheduled to attend the first anniversary of the death of late Ethiopian Prime Minister in Addis Ababa next week. He will go on Monday 19”, the spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ministry, Mawien Makol told Sudan Tribune on Thursday.
The Meles Zenawi Foundation announced that the commemoration will start on August 20.

Meles did not only bring peace and stability to Ethiopia,he did everything in his power to bring peace in the whole region. That is why he is also very much deeply missed by the whole region and the whole of Africa.
