Berhanu Nega

Berhanu Nega (PhD) is a lecturer at Bucknel University in United States. He reportedly travelled to Eritrea last July to lead an armed struggle. He is leader of “Patriotic Ginbot 7” and chair of the “United Front for Salvation of Ethiopia through Democracy” formed in Sept. 2015.
Berhanu participated in the 2005 election when his party CUD (Kinjit) won Addis Ababa by a landslide. The party nominated

Berhanu for the mayorship but never assumed office. Instead, a post-election crisis had Berhanu at al imprisoned and later released on pardon in 2007. Berhanu had since left to the United States – where he had been for two decades before 2000.
