Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) is the ruling party of Ethiopia comprising four regional parties.
It was established in 1991 as a coalition of Tigrai Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF) and Amhara National Democratic Movement (ANDM). Later that year, Oromo People’s Democratic Organization (OPDO) joined the EPRDF. South Ethiopian Peoples’ Democratic Movement (SEPDM) joined the next year.
EPRDF has been the ruling party since 1991 under the leadership of the late Meles Zenawi.
Hailemariam Desalegn is the chairperson of EPRDF since 2012.
