A high-level Eritrean government delegation headed by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and comprising Mr. Yemane Gebreab, Head of Political Affairs at the PFDJ, as well as the Eritrean Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Osman Mohammed Omar, held talks in Cairo on July 31 with the Acting President of Egypt, Mr. Adli Mansour, and the Foreign Minister, Mr. Nebil Fahmi focusing on bilateral relations and regional developments.
In the course of the meeting, the two sides conducted discussion on the development of Eritrean-Egyptian relations and regional as well as international issues of interest to both countries. Moreover, they agreed to develop all-round bilateral cooperation, according to the Eritrean Embassy in Cairo.
Regarding regional issues, the two sides reached understanding to work together towards ensuring peace and stability in the region in general and that of the Horn in particular, following discussion on current developments thereof.
Reports also indicated that the Egyptian officials gave briefings to the high-level Eritrean delegation as regards current developments in their country.
