Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn said that Saudi Arabia has requested around 30,000 laborers including housemaids, drivers and technical staff from Ethiopia.
The Deputy Prime Minister made the statement in his interview with Saudi Gazette at the Jeddah Conference Palace, on Sunday.
According to Saudi Gazette Hailemariam Desalegne said that ‘his country would make sure all workers sent to the Kingdom are well-trained. For this purpose…..there are a number of training centers.‘
Though the Dep. Prime Minister might be referring to the Technical and Vocational Centers that trains youth in a number of areas, it is not clear if that equips them for the challenges in a country that is alien to them in terms of language and social make-up.
